Something I'm Proud of In the Last Few Days

Hm....What have I become proud of.

Let's see....number one....oh yes.  I'm VERY proud of my best friend for deciding to go on a mission.  That makes me proud.

So...
1. Natalie's going on a mission.

yep that's her, on the right.  She's gonna be a servant of the good Lord!  :) :) :)

Let's see...next thing that I'm proud of....hm...well, I turned 21 this week!!  So now I can gamble, and drink, and get into clubs!  I can pretty much do anything but rent a car!

Another thing that I'm proud of is....that I'm a Mormon!  I love being Mormon it's the best part of my life.  Without the church...I don't know who I would be.  And obviously I have been proud to be a Mormon for more that just this week.

This picture is great too.  "I can't....I'm Mormon."  We just have standards!  And they're great.  I actually really want this shirt, I think it would be hilarious! :)

Anyway, that's it for this post.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! (Tomorrow)

Short Term Goals for November

Alright, so, because October is almost over, my short term goals are going to be for November.

First Goal- Finish field Work at Foothills.

I've been doing field work down at Foothills elementary for the past month.  So far I've helped in resource, which was SO much fun!  I loved the ladies I worked with and the children were so fun.  I love helping them and working with them.  It's so cool that I'm helping to make a difference in their lives.  Now, I'm working on field work in a Kindergarten classroom.  And...it's a lot harder.  I just don't think I'm used to working with children that young.  It just seems like there's a lot more pressure for Kindergartners...I don't know why.  Or maybe I just don't know how to talk to them.  Probably a combination of the two.  I'm just looking forward to having my field work DONE!  And I won't have to worry about it any more :)

Second Goal- Get Grades UP!

Ok so I've been kind of a slacker this first half of the semester...normally I'm a slacker the last half.  But if I'm starting out a slacker...it can only go downhill from there.  So yeah, my goal is that I just really need to buckle down, quit messing around and do my homework!  Get things done, you know?  I need to focus a lot more on my school work because it's important.  I just got accepted into the Elementary Education program and I need to have good grades to make sure that I actually GET IN!

Third Goal- Save Money!

I have been so broke the past few months and I really need to work on saving my money.  I owe my friend Ana a lot of money from when I went to Europe, she helped me out a lot when I was there.  I feel so bad about it.  So yeah, she's my number one priority right now, aside from rent and other essentials.  So yeah, I need to save my money!

I think that's it for my short term goals.  I think there are others I just can't think of any.  In the meantime, I'm going to look forward to Halloween.  :)

Someone Who Has Had a GREAT impact on me- David Archuleta of coarse!

Ok, call me a thirteen year old, but...I love David Archuleta.  Of coarse I was all google-eyed over him during American Idol.  He's just so cute, so talented, and around my age, so naturally, I fell for the kid!  Not to mention he's Mormon, so his Utah fan base was HUGE!

David has always inspired me.  He is such a nice, genuine person that really wants to make a difference.  One of the things I love about him is that he is always doing charities and services for people around the world to help raise money or awareness.  Ever since he became a star from American Idol, he's decided to make the best of the blessings he's been blessed with.  That, I think, is why I love David so much.  Not because he is "cute", but because he really cares about other people.  You can just tell by looking at him.  He has that joy in his face.  One of my other favorite things about David is that he is living his dream.  We all have our dreams and we think to ourselves "I wonder if I could ever be like that some day..."  I've had the exact fantasy that David has.  What would it be like to walk out onto a stage and see thousands of people screaming for you...?  It would be absolutely amazing.  And David has that.  He's actually living that.  He wasn't born famous, he once lived a normal life like everyone else, and now he's famous.  I think it's neat that he has both perspectives.

I "Picnik" both of the above pictures.  I love Picnik it's such an awesome website!  So anyway, David has had a great impact on me just by being himself.  I have met him a few times...well, seen him.  He signed my shirt once in a crowd, and has given me hi-fives after concerts.  One day though, I want to really meet him.  That would be a dream come true!!

Enjoy the Videos!
This was when I first saw him.  It was before the American Idol show at the E-Center in 2006 (I think, whatever year season 7 was.  Which, by the way is the best AI season ever!!

This was at a concert in St. George that I went to with my friend Sheree and her mom.  It was such a fun little trip!  We had AMAZING seats too!  We were in the very front, just three rows back from the stage, it was awesome!  it was like he was singing right at us :)  And normally, I hate this song, but LOVED when David sang it :)

Well, now that everyone knows that I'm a David freak, they can either continue blog reading or not.  I just like him okay?!  :)

My Favorite Superhero and Why

I honestly have never really seriously contemplated this question.  However, after a toss up between Mr. Incredible and The Iron Giant....I have decided that Spiderman wins.  He's just too cool.  I mean, spiders are way scary, but Spiderman is the MAN!  He's sexy, he's smart, and he can fly around town in a tight suit.

I mean really, who can pull of a pose that awesome except Spiderman?  It's a cool suit.  And he's a cool guy.  And he loves Mary Jane, I'd have to say that their love story is very cute.  It just teaches you that any guy can sweep any girl off her feet- you just have to have the right broom!

Somewhere I've Been

This summer I had the AMAZING opportunity to visit Europe.  My sister and I went to Spain with our friends Sonia and Ana, who are from there.  The experience was absolutely incredible.  I will never forget going there.

The above picture is me and Paige gazing out into...are you ready?  The Colosseum. As well as visiting several cool cities in Spain, we were able to go to Rome, Italy and Paris, France as well.  It was way cool to fly from place to place.  I feel incredibly lucky to be able to say that I have indeed BEEN to Europe!  They life a different life over there, it's crazy.  It is a total different world.  It was bizarre to hear 3 different languages in 2 weeks.  No one spoke English in the countries we went to.  It was nuts.  We were SO happy to hear English when we came back home to America.

This picture if from the top dome in the Vatican City, St. Peter's Basical.  The entire Vatican cathedral was built over the supposed burial place of the Apostle Peter.  This was in incredible sight.  You could see all of Rome from up there.  He had to walk through tiny halls and narrow, steep staircases to get there.  But it was definitely worth this.  The city was breathtaking from this view.

I have more pictures, but, blogger is being dumb and I can't get any more to upload.  I'll perhaps upload more from when we were in Paris and Toledo, Spain.

One Habit I Wish I Didn't Have: Fingernail Biting

One habit I wish that I didn't have is my compulsively annoying ability to not stop biting my fingernails!  I have chewed my fingernails for years and I can't seem to stop!  Wearing nail polish, wearing acrillic nails...nothing stops me.  I guess my nails will always look like Frodo's.

Will it ever end?  I want my nails to be beautiful one day...but I can't stop biting them!

The Meaning of My Kind of Perfect

Well, the title of my blog, My Kind of Perfect comes from a song from David Archuleta's new album (Other Side of Down, Oct. 2010).   The song from with the title of my blog comes from, My Kind of Perfect, is about the girl he has yet to meet.  However, I am not using his meaning as mine.  While David's is very, VERY cute, and I love it, I feel like my meaning is different.  My Kind of Perfect is about making things perfect that aren't perfect in the eyes of others, just to me.  It's what makes me...me.  It's My Kind of Perfect.  I don't know if that makes any sense at all, but I think it does.

So, David inspired the title, my meaning is different.  However, here's an attached link and the lyrics for David's link because the song is very cute, though not my favorite on his new album.

David Archuleta - My Kind of Perfect (Grand Rapids)

I was thinkin' about ya
I drew a little picture
But some things you can't put on paper
Like ya like shooting stars
Or write songs on guitar
Got more things to do than stare at a mirror

And I know I know,
She's gotta be out there, out there
I know, I know, she's gotta be

Maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm right
Maybe I'll just let you walk by
What can I say, maybe I've known you all my life
Is she the one, is it today
Will I turn the corner, see my future
In a beautiful face
Maybe

She's anything but typical
A sweet suprise
No matter what she's looking at the brightside
It's gonna be worth it
Cos that's what love it's
I'll keep searching for my kind of perfect!

And I know, I know, she's gotta be out there, out there
I know I know, she's gotta be.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right, maybe I just let you walk by
What can I say, maybe I've known you all my life
Is she the one, is it today
Will I turn the corner, see my future, in a beautiful face
Maybe

They say, give it time, give it time and it will fall in line
But I keep wondering how and when and why I haven't met you...

But maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right

Ooohhhhh
Is she the one is it today
Will I turn the corner
See my future, in a beautiful face

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right
Maybe I just let you walk by
What can I say
Maybe I've known you all my life
Is she the one, is it today
Will I turn the corner, see my future
In a beautiful face
Maybe ohh maybe yeah

I'll keep searching for my kind of perfect.

New Blog Post

I am copying my friend Jenny Potts with this whole blogger idea thing.  I'm hoping that it will help me get more into blogging.  Or at least find things to write about, because I really do love to write.

I think I will explain this picture.  This is a picture of me (clearly).  This was taken this summer (Summer 2010), I believe in July.  Nichole and I went to Thanksgiving Point to watch a play that our friend Kyle Oram was in- Romeo and Juliet in fact!  We were super late and only saw the last third of the play.  The very end when Kyle and Juliet died.  It was great.  Afterwards... we went and walked around the gardens.  We were already in Thanksgiving Point- for free- so we thought we'd look around in the gorgeous gardens there.  So we were having a fun little adventure and I decided I would l hide and be scared in the bushes.    So that is the explanation behind this fun picture!!

Now, here are 15 interesting facts about me:

12. I would die for most of my friends.
13.I LOVE my family!
14. I hate being sick.  It's not fun. At. All.
15. I never get headaches, except when I am bored.  Usually.
